Our Story

Made by a Maui mama

Aloha, I’m Sara, the mama behind Spa Mama Maui.

My background spans nearly two decades of holistic wellness, motherhood, and entrepreneurship. I’m a certified massage therapist, yoga instructor, and birth matron (doula), trained by a Malaysian midwife. Here on Maui, I’ve owned two superfood cafes and kava bars, raised 50 chickens on our family farm, sharing fresh eggs & flowers with our community, and spent a few years photographing mamas and their newborns. I’m also a Kangen water distributor and a proud homeschooling mama to three children, all born at home. I breastfed for nine years straight, through toddlerhood and into each new pregnancy. Motherhood is a deeply rewarding journey that many describe as their life’s greatest purpose, balancing profound joy & grief as your children grow up. Every mother deserves support during their motherhood journey.

I’ve designed this wellness center for mothers over the past decade, rooted in my own experience through pregnancy & postpartum. Being neurodivergent has given me the opportunity to be deeply in tune with my senses, with an attention to detail that creates a truly divine sensory experience.

Spa Mama Maui believes every mother deserves to be held, seen, nourished, validated, & restored.

My mission is to have a wellness center for pregnant & postpartum mothers. We will have services that promote a healthy & an organic lifestyle, including childbirth education classes, women-led community circles, & local practitioner support. Women are reclaiming their birth space & feeling empowered, which will positively impact future generations.

Women were not legally required to be included in federally funded medical research until 1993.

Birth is a sacred portal that should be protected.

Postpartum recovery can take up to 7 years.

Spa Mama Maui supports women through pregnancy & postpartum.
